ASHFORD U19s arrived very late at Sidcup and never really had a chance to warm up completely.

This gave the advantage to the home side who scored after five minutes and then again quickly to take an early 12-0 lead. Ashford rallied but the well drilled Sidcup side scored two more tries to lead at half time 24-0.

Ashford started the second half strongly with Grant Burden taking a catch, chipping on and breaking two tackles to release Nathaniel Hayes who touched down under the posts. Burden converted and Ashford were fighting back.

Good tackling prevented further scores until Sidcup had a player sin binned and Ashford shipped the ball through the back line for Hayes to touch down again and reduce the deficit to 24–12.
