Green slide down table after narrow defeat to Rusthall

BROMLEY GREEN fell to tenth in the Premier Division of the Vandanel Kent County League, after losing 2-1 at Rusthall. Ryan Norman was on the score sheet again for Green.
In Division One, Kevin Bennett scored all four of Lydd Town’s goals during their 4-2 victory against Kennington.
Chris Watts and Steve Rice replied for the visitors.
New Romney moved up to fourth with a 2-0 win at basement club Oakwood. Richard Boorman and Joe Valler were the New Romney scorers.
Tenterden Town produced a superb comeback to draw 3-3 with Dartford’s Lanes End, in Division 3.
Trailing 3-1 with five minutes remaining, despite opening the scoring through Simon Bourne, a Winfield penalty and a last ditched Matt Tomkins strike earned Town a point.
Kennington lost 4-0 at home to Bearsted in the first round of the Reserve Divisions Cup.
There was no luck for the local sides in the first round of the Kent Junior Cup either, as Bromley Green Reserves lost 5-1 at home to Malgo and Lydd Town Reserves lost 4-1 at Sturry.
ASHFORD district teams performed well in the Kent Junior Cup .
There were victories for Hope Inn 9-3 at Chilham Res, Lanterns overcame Ocean 9-0, Willesborough Cricketers beat local rivals Ashford Borough 1-0 and Rolvenden swamped St Lawrence Res 13-2.
Billy Weir netted three for the Hope and also on target were Marc Desborough (2), Rhys Talor Ryall, Jace Dempster, Dan Falconer and Jamie Tomsett.
Two goals each from Darren Winfield and Joe Culshaw lifted Lanterns who also had John Smith, James Gibson, Lee Marjoram and sub Lee Radford on target.
In the Ashford League premier division two goals each from Charlie Potter and Brett Moncrieff plus one from Shaun Redman saw Bethersden win 5-3 at Lydd A.
Lydd replied through Ricky Benham, a Russell Strong screamer and Matt Flight and Paul Anderson saved a Bethersden penalty.
In Division 1 Adam Ewell and Guy Farmer notched hat-tricks as Riverside overcame Ruckinge 7-2 with the other goals netted by Adam Mansfield.
Woodchurch won 3-0 at The Ship with strikes by Duncan Kilford, Paul Allan and Stuart Allan to maintain their lead at the top.
New Romney Reserves lost ground, losing 4-2 at fellow challengers Wittersham who had Luke White, James Head and two from Billy Hilden on target.
