Reserves stay on course at the top

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Football -

BULMERS Cider Kent League Division 1 leaders Ashford Reserves maintained their progress with a fine 2-0 success at Maidstone.

The win keeps them two points clear at the top of Division 1 of the Kent League with a visit by Cray Wanderers on Saturday.

Ashford U12s suffered their first home defeat of the season with a 5-3 loss against Folkestone Invicta.

Town at times struggled to cope with the pace of a quick forward line and some direct play as they went three goals down in the first-half. However, a strike from Antonio Puig Miguel ensured that Town went in 3-1 down.

Folkestone struck again just after the interval but a second for Puig Miguel from the penalty spot and an outstanding strike from Luke Burden from outside the box gave them hope.
