NEWINGREEN based Holiday Extras has boosted the work of a Kent children’s hospice.

Founder and non-executive chairman Gerry Pack and chief executive officer Steve Lawrence, presented the Demelza House Children’s Hospice with a cheque for £25,000.

To mark its success, the Holiday Extras board set aside £100,000 for charitable donations this year, with three local charities each being awarded £25,000.

The remainder is being divided between other good causes.

The Demelza House presentation follows Kent Air Ambulance’s receipt of its cheque at the company’s 25th anniversary lunch in April.

The Pilgrims Hospice will be receiving the third donation later in the year.

In addition to the £25,000, Demelza House has also received a donation of £250, raised by a recent barbecue organised by the customer relations and finance department.
