A BIG crowd of people visited Godinton House to enjoy the annual Pumpkin Day activities on Sunday. Children dressed as witches, skeletons and a whole variety of animals as they made pumpkin lanterns and listened to stories in the cellars. The tea room did a brisk trade in homemade pumpkin soup, cakes and other hot refreshments. Nick Sandford, the manager of Godinton, said: “It was a lovely day for families and, despite the wet weather, everyone seemed to go home with a smile on their face and a pumpkin under their arm.”
