Bowled over by charity efforts
THESE may be troubled times in the world of business but Ashford’s leading firms put aside problems for challenges of a different kind. Fourteen teams laced up their bowling shoes for an inter company competition at Ashford Bowl organised by accountant Paul Nixon. Teams of bankers from HSBC, Lloyds, NatWest, Barclays, Clydesdale and Handelsbanken, solicitors Kingsfords, Hallets and Girlings, plus Stephen Lower insurance, Scott Wilson, W F Finn Kelcey and Whitehead Monkton, battled it out on 17 lanes. Winners were the Barclays team and the evening raised more than £1,000 for Ashford Pilgrims Hospice.
