Fourths go clear

ASH­FORD 4ths are clear at the top of Kent Open Premier C af­ter a well-drilled per­for­mance earned them a 3-0 win over Brom­ley and Beck­en­ham.

Se­nior strike pair­ing Ray Same­dini and John Brown­ing gave Ash­ford a 2-0 first half lead, be­fore Andy Burwell made it 3-0 in the sec­ond half.

THE An­tiques trav­elled to Rochester for an evening game against Old Wil­liamso­ni­ans, who handed the Ash­ford team a 5-1 de­feat.

The home side’s early pres­sure came to noth­ing as Ash­ford stood firm, even­tu­ally find­ing their way into the game and scor­ing the open­ing goal through John Bai­ley.

One goal was never go­ing to be enough, how­ever, as Old Wills fought back with a vengeance in the sec­ond half, scor­ing five unan­swered goals to se­cure victory.
