ASHFORD Town manager Steve Lovell is convinced his side will get things right after they extended their winless streak to six games with defeat at Merstham on Tuesday night.

Yet another individual defensive mistake cost the Nuts and Bolts against the Surrey side but Lovell is sure that it won’t be too long before his side start producing results again.

He said: “It’s not all doom and gloom. We are not too far from getting things right. Things just aren’t going our way at the moment.

“We defended well against Merstham, as we have been doing over the last couple of weeks, but then one mistake cost us the game.

“Jimmy (Elford) had a great game, apart from the mistake, and since Craig Wilkins came in, he and Sean Ray have been excellent.

“But we have gone from scoring and conceding loads to the exact opposite.

“Goals confidence and be changing things around again at the weekend in an

breed I’ll

the attempt problem.”

Fleet Town are Ashford’s opponents in Ryman League, Division 1 South on Saturday and Lovell is anticipating another tough encounter.

Lovell (pictured) added: “Fleet are a good side, difficult to play against. They got a good win against Croydon on Tuesday and will give us a challenge. Their pitch is not great but we’ll go there, hopefully continue to defend well.”

Lovell has no injury or suspension worries ahead of the game.
