MP’s anger at arrest ordeal
ASHFORD MP Damian Green has spoken of his anger at being arrested over allegations of leaking sensitive Home Office information to the media.
Mr Green, 51, was arrested in his office at the House of Commons last Thursday and quizzed at a London police station for nine hours before being released on bail.
His homes in Charing and London and his constituency office were searched by teams of anti-terrorist officers.
As a huge political row over his detention continued this week, Mr Green thanked scores of constituents who have offered support to him and his wife Alicia.
His agent Gordon Williams said the MP remained “astonished, angry and frustrated” and had been distressed by the impact of the raids on his wife and two children.
