Will Fuller ap­ply for top job at the Met?

KENT Po­lice have re­fused to com­ment on spec­u­la­tion that their Chief Con­sta­ble Mike Fuller has ap­plied for the Metropoli­tan Po­lice Com­mis­sioner job.

Mr Fuller, who took the county’s top po­lice job in Jan­uary 2004, has been ru­moured as a pos­si­ble re­place­ment for Sir Ian Blair a num­ber of times over the past year.

He started his ca­reer as a po­lice­man with the Met when he joined as a cadet in 1975.

The news comes the day af­ter the act­ing com­mis­sioner for the Metropoli­tan Po­lice Sir Paul Stephen­son an­nounced he was ap­ply­ing for the role.
