MORE than £2,000 was raised for the Pilgrims Hospice with a musical evening at Tenterden’s Sinden Theatre last week that saw sisters Francesca and Leigh Sinden take to the stage. Cindy Jennings of the charity explained: “Francesca and Leigh wanted the evening to be held in memory of their grandma, Jean Sinden, who was cared for in the Pilgrims Hospice in Ashford. “They and some friends from Ashford Showbiz Academy sang and danced their way through an evening of extracts from musicals. “They were also supported by Gary Glaysher, a professional opera singer, who had originally lived in the Ashford area.” The evening included street dancing from the Phase 11 street dance group of the Marsh Academy. The event raised £2,445.
