Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Opinion -

WHAT a shame that Webbo decided to use his column (November 27) to point out that he and kmfm were not at the switch-on this year, and to overlook the special young people whose big moment this was. The lights were not switched on by “some panto people”. We were delighted Emma Barton, Honey from EastEnders and Richard Hurst, her Prince Charming from the Marlowe Theatre panto, were able to take time out of their hectic schedule to drop in earlier in the afternoon. The lights were actually switched on by Olympic gold medal-winning cyclist Jamie Staff along with special guests Lauren and Elisia, who were jointly nominated as this year’s AHBS-William Harvey “child of courage”.
