A TOWERS School pupil held off tough competition to reach the regional final of the FutureChef competition. Jack Windle, 15, was chosen over six other teenagers with his menu of lightly smoked salmon with citrus sauce, followed by a chocolate pot with a sugar cage. The judges, president of the Masterchef society Jack Weisz and Ian Nottage from Leathams plc, selected Jack to go through to the regional final which will take place at Thames Valley University early next year. The FutureChef competition is in its ninth year, and aims to teach young people between 12 and 16 how to cook. Head of vocational catering at the Towers, Tony Caine, said: “This competition provides an excellent arena for those starting out in this career, and I would just like to congratulate everyone who took part.”
