SWITCH off, wrap up, control – these were the three key slogans put to Ashford businesses to help them save energy and money during the financial crisis.

Erica Russell of Business Link Kent gave company bosses advice on turning off and controlling heating and insulation during a Greener in the Workplace conference. The event, for small and medium-sized businesses and voluntary groups, was held at Singleton Environment Centre.

Marketing development manager Miss Russell advised firms to switch off lights in workplaces while unused; wrap up by insulating to save money in the winter and keep cool in the summer, and control by making sure the heating is off when no one is in.
