Pink pig sign stolen

A DISTINCTIVE pink pig sign has been stolen from the roadside in Woodchurch. The sign was last seen on Sunday evening at 4.30pm, and had disappeared by 9.30am on Monday morning. It directed people to Cuckoo’s Pit organic farm, which has a shop selling its own produce including beef, lamb, poultry and eggs. Farm owner Maria Bugden, who reported the theft to police on Monday, said: “The pig signs have had a very good response, people are now using them as a landmark. “I can only think that they were stolen for their scrap value.” There are now just two of the metal pig signs left, which are made by Mrs Bugden’s brotherin-law, a blacksmith.

Anyone with information on the missing pig should contact South Kent Police on 01303 289180.
