Community spirit shines through

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Opinion -

THE Wye Business Association held its annual Christmas street party on Friday, December 5. The event raised just over £2,000 which is the sum needed to provide Christmas lights for our village and another Christmas street party next year. Despite the downpour people were not put off and in true British and Wye spirit carried on regardless. It is these people we would like to thank for their support together with the police and St John who cover our event every year. Thanks must also go to the two officers at Ashford Borough Council who every year help us with the road closure and street collecting licence etc. These two ladies couldn’t be more helpful in assisting us to make our event possible. Ann Sutherland, Chairman, Wye Business Association.
