ASHFORD and Swale councils are to join forces to provide a property partnership to share and develop expertise and reduce the cost of delivering the service without impacting on the quality of service. Plans endorsed at the executive could bring a first year saving for Ashford in the region of £26,000 and a further £10,000 each year. The council has already signed up to the principle of shared services with other district councils. Leader Cllr Paul Clokie (Con) said: “The proposed partnership with Swale presents an excellent opportunity to take forward our commitment to shared service delivery which will allow the council to make savings and still provide an excellent service.”
