Es­tab­lished a year later, af­ter cre­at­ing new sam­ple dishes in the kitchen of her home near Rye, the com­pany started pro­duc­ing high qual­ity frozen ready meals.

Stephen, 43, from Bon­ning­ton, had 18 years’ ex­pe­ri­ence in the in­dus­try with Brake Broth­ers where he started as a cleaner and rose to be­come prod­uct de­vel­op­ment man­ager.

Now busi­ness is boom­ing with 40 staff pro­duc­ing tra­di­tional meat and fish dishes and a va­ri­ety of veg­e­tar­ian meals.

Mil­li­foods sup­plies big name com­pa­nies like BHS and de­spite the re­ces­sion they will soon be work­ing 24 hours a day to meet de­mand.

The lat­est award was for Shelegh’s as­para­gus and Gruyere crown, one of Spike’s favourites.
