Morris taking off with Biggles play
WOODCHURCH Morris Men are reminding pub-goers to be on the lookout for them this Christmas. The morris men’s mummers play, Biggles Flies Undone, is in aid of local charities and will be staged in the following venues:
Sunday, December 21, 8pm, The World’s Wonder, Woodchurch and 9.15pm, The Bell at Ivychurch.
Monday, December 22, 8pm, The Woolpack, Tenterden and 9.15pm, The Swan at Wittersham.
Tuesday, December 23, 8pm, The Duke’s Head at Hamstreet and 9.15pm, The Six Bells at Woodchurch. The group’s Dave Comley said: “The traditional annual Boxing Day Wassail – Morris dancing and singing – is now in planning. “Weather depending, and times being approximate, the route is: Community Hall, 10.30am; Rectory Close, 11.15am; Bonny Cravat, 12pm; Six Bells, 12.30pm; Woolpack at Warehorne, 1pm; and World’s Wonder, 2pm.” For more details about the plays or about becoming a member of the Woodchurch Morris, call Mr Comley on 01233 860861.
