SIX children from the Caldecott Foundation got an early Christmas present when they were taken to Lapland, the home of Santa Claus. They were treated to a snowy sleigh ride and a trip to see Santa Claus in his grotto. It was all made possible thanks to the generosity of building services company Halsion Ltd, based in Petham, near Canterbury. It is also funding a Christmas party for every child at Caldecott, at Port Lympne Wild Animal Park. The Caldecott Foundation is based in Smeeth, and provides a home for vulnerable children who have suffered abuse and neglect. Rebecca Fisher, a manager at Caldecott, said: “This was an incredible opportunity for our young people to have an experience, not only of going to visit Santa, which was incredibly magical, but also being able to spend time away from the houses. “I felt very privileged to be alongside them to share that experience.”
