Winter safari provides wild start to the year
A WILD animal park is opening on New Year’s Day to give people an unusual way to celebrate the start of 2009. Visitors to Port Lympne, near Hythe, can take a safari ride through the park and see wild animals roaming free as well as enjoying views over the Romney Marsh. Animals in the open safari park include giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, ostrich and rhino. The park is also home to 25 western lowland gorillas, with the latest arrival being born just a few weeks ago, two tiger cubs who are seven months old, endangered barbary lions, african hunting dogs and monkeys. The New Year’s Day safari rides will set off at 10am and noon.
Places must be booked, by phoning 01303 264647.
