Run off ex­cesses in Box­ing Day chal­lenge

OR­GAN­IS­ERS of the 34th Salt­wood Box­ing Day Run are ex­pect­ing an­other big en­try for this year’s race.

Barry Wat­son, a mem­ber of the or­gan­is­ing com­mit­tee, said: “The race now at­tracts as many as 900 com­peti­tors of all ages and abil­i­ties.

“First-time run­ners race along­side se­ri­ous ath­letes to en­sure an amaz­ing spec­ta­cle and it is a great way to get over the Christ­mas Day ex­cesses.”

The dis­tance is just un­der three miles and the race starts and fin­ishes on Salt­wood Green.

Pro­ceeds from the event go to the Mo­tor Neu­rone Dis­ease As­so­ci­a­tion in mem­ory of Terry Davis, who took part in many Box­ing Day runs.

En­try fee is £5 for run­ners aged 16 over or over and £2 for un­der-16s.
