Stick together to fight closure plan

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Opinion -

I AM a parent of two adults with severe learning difficulties who attend Canterbury Day Centre. We are in the same boat as Ashford, facing closure. As yet, Kent County Council has not offered any alternative place for the clients to attend and our building is falling down, and in much need of repair. The council will try to close it because of health and safety reasons if something is not done to stop them. At least our building is still there, they were going to dispose of it with the Wincheap Regeneration Plan but now the plan can no longer be done because of the economical climate. We have been given the same time for closure as Ashford, about two years. Everything that is mentioned in letters from the Ashford parentcarers affects Canterbury clients as well. We need to pull together
