Exotic animals on show at sanctuary

THE Lord Whisky Animal Sanctuary held a fur, feather and exotics exhibition on Saturday.

Llamas, canaries and continental giant rabbits were among the species on display, giving people a change to find out more about how to care for them.

Organiser Margaret Todd, who runs the charity from its Stelling Minnis base, was delighted with the turnout. She said: “We’ve been running these shows for the last 15 years.

“It’s a chance for people to take an interest and then maybe go home and think about bringing one into their home.

“We’ve seen a huge increase in the last year of people having to give up their pets because of the economic downturn, as it’s one of the first things people choose to cut from their budgets.”

The show was held Boughton.
