Performers join Gurkha festival
THE Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas will be celebrating their 10th anniversary festival of music with three concerts next month.
The band have over the past nine years invited guests from the world of music to appear with them during the festival.
This year they will be joined by the Canterbury Choral Society, who perform on a regular basis in Canterbury Cathedral to capacity audiences.
Local singer Rebecca Robinson will also be taking to the stage along with the Brigade of Gurkha dancers.
The festival is staged each year to help raise funds for The Gurkha Welfare Trust and Young Persons with Disabilities.
A DVD documentary has been made over the last four months charting the history of the festival which contains footage of performances over the last 10 years and interviews with peo- ple who have been involved in the festival. The DVD is being launched at this year’s festival.
Tickets for the festival are priced at £12 and at £10 with concessions available. Special prices are on offer for the performance on Thursday, April 16. Tickets can be obtained by phoning 01304 366337 or 07902 610267.
The events take place on April 16, 17 and 18 at The Nye Hall, The Duke of York’s Royal Military School, Dover.
