AP­PLE­DORE won the Peter Payne Cup, but it took penal­ties for them to see off Churchill Roy­als in Sun­day’s fi­nal.

With the score 0-0 af­ter ex­tra-time, Ap­ple­dore kept their nerve to take the sil­ver­ware on penal­ties.

Ap­ple­dore keeper Nathan Willis had kept Ap­ple­dore in the game with some spec­tac­u­lar saves, with brother Toby doggedly work­ing the mid­field. A HAT-TRICK from Danny Trapp helped Brew­mas­ter Re­serves to a 4-0 win over Char­ing Re­serves.

Sha­dox­hurst had to pull out all the stops against Ruckinge United be­fore winning 4-2 af­ter ex­tra-time. THE only game in the divi­sion saw Troggs win 2-0 at home to bot­tom club Ash­ford Cava­liers, with Richard Moon scor­ing both goals. join­ing them with a 2-1 at Mer­sham.

At the other end, Fox Sun­day picked up only their sec­ond point with a 2-2 draw at home to Bocca. Bill Brif­fit scored a hat­trick in a 7-2 win over Char­ing. THE AL­BION picked up valu­able points from a 3-2 win at home to The Cru­sader with goals from Howard Baker (2) and Sean O’Neil.

Wye de­feated Grasshop­pers 3-2, while Eger­ton kept up their push for pro­mo­tion with a 2-1 win at Brom­ley Green Re­serves.

Galac­ti­cos had a comfortable 5-0 win at Ash­ford Ea­gles, with goals from Steve Rice (2), Lee Hanger (2) and Ricky Easter. with the leaders af­ter goals from Chris Link­ins and Adam Myles saw them to a 2-1 win at William Har­vey Inn.

Troggs Re­serves and Gi­vau­dan look to have their work cut out to avoid the drop af­ter they both lost again, Troggs went down 4-2 at Lo­co­mo­tive and Gi­vau­dan lost 3-0 at Ash­ford Vic­to­ria.

Newchurch con­tinue to pick up points – their lat­est three com­ing from a 3-1 home win over Bur­ton Grove. DOUG ROB­SON scored twice for Ash­ford Cava­liers Re­serves, who strength­ened their grip on the ta­ble with a 3-1 over Park Farm Rangers.

Man of Kent and Mer­sham Re­serves shared the points with a 2-2 draw, Brabourne were edged out 4-3 at home to im­prov­ing Bliby Re­serves, while Prince Al­bert went down by the same score at home to Ash­ford Spar­tans.
