APPLEDORE won the Peter Payne Cup, but it took penalties for them to see off Churchill Royals in Sunday’s final.
With the score 0-0 after extra-time, Appledore kept their nerve to take the silverware on penalties.
Appledore keeper Nathan Willis had kept Appledore in the game with some spectacular saves, with brother Toby doggedly working the midfield. A HAT-TRICK from Danny Trapp helped Brewmaster Reserves to a 4-0 win over Charing Reserves.
Shadoxhurst had to pull out all the stops against Ruckinge United before winning 4-2 after extra-time. THE only game in the division saw Troggs win 2-0 at home to bottom club Ashford Cavaliers, with Richard Moon scoring both goals. joining them with a 2-1 at Mersham.
At the other end, Fox Sunday picked up only their second point with a 2-2 draw at home to Bocca. Bill Briffit scored a hattrick in a 7-2 win over Charing. THE ALBION picked up valuable points from a 3-2 win at home to The Crusader with goals from Howard Baker (2) and Sean O’Neil.
Wye defeated Grasshoppers 3-2, while Egerton kept up their push for promotion with a 2-1 win at Bromley Green Reserves.
Galacticos had a comfortable 5-0 win at Ashford Eagles, with goals from Steve Rice (2), Lee Hanger (2) and Ricky Easter. with the leaders after goals from Chris Linkins and Adam Myles saw them to a 2-1 win at William Harvey Inn.
Troggs Reserves and Givaudan look to have their work cut out to avoid the drop after they both lost again, Troggs went down 4-2 at Locomotive and Givaudan lost 3-0 at Ashford Victoria.
Newchurch continue to pick up points – their latest three coming from a 3-1 home win over Burton Grove. DOUG ROBSON scored twice for Ashford Cavaliers Reserves, who strengthened their grip on the table with a 3-1 over Park Farm Rangers.
Man of Kent and Mersham Reserves shared the points with a 2-2 draw, Brabourne were edged out 4-3 at home to improving Bliby Reserves, while Prince Albert went down by the same score at home to Ashford Spartans.
