Paper on way out
CHANGES to the way the public and parish councils are notified about planning applications have been approved by Ashford council’s executive. They involve a switch to email notification rather than sending out paper copies of applications and decisions. The council will continue to notify neighbours of applications and their decisions via letter or email and continue to provide copies of all applications to parish and town councils until March 2010. The changes are expected to save about £3,500 in 2009/10 and £10,000 in subsequent years.
