Running to save the cheetah

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Front Page -

HE may not be able to keep up with the 70mph speeds of a cheetah but Jim Mahoney is running for the cheetah – and all the other big cats at the Wildlife Heritage Foundation (WHF) in Smarden. Mr Mahoney is competing in Ironman France 2009, which consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle then a 26.2 mile run – without a break!

Endangered

The WHF works to prevent the extinction of the world’s most endangered cats both in captivity and worldwide through its site in Smarden and through extensive contributions to overseas conservation projects in the field.
