Father and son to head cattle show
FATHER and son farmers from Charing have been elected to lead this year’s Ashford Cattle Show. Brian Bromley from Acton Farm was made the new president at the annual meeting and his son Michael takes over as show chairman from Tony Weller, with Ed Lovejoy as his deputy. President-elect for the next year is Tony Denne from Wye. Richard Crump from Bilsington, who stood down after 40 years, was elected as a vice-president. Retiring president Countess Mountbatten of Burma presented £2,102.60p raised at the December twoday show to John Towner of East Kent Strokes her selected charity.
