Fa­ther and son to head cat­tle show

FA­THER and son farm­ers from Char­ing have been elected to lead this year’s Ash­ford Cat­tle Show. Brian Brom­ley from Ac­ton Farm was made the new pres­i­dent at the an­nual meet­ing and his son Michael takes over as show chair­man from Tony Weller, with Ed Love­joy as his deputy. Pres­i­dent-elect for the next year is Tony Denne from Wye. Richard Crump from Bils­ing­ton, who stood down af­ter 40 years, was elected as a vice-pres­i­dent. Re­tir­ing pres­i­dent Count­ess Mount­bat­ten of Burma pre­sented £2,102.60p raised at the De­cem­ber two­day show to John Towner of East Kent Strokes her se­lected char­ity.
