Saris, henna and a little Gujarati
SCHOOLCHILDREN have held their second culture day as part of a programme to help them understand the diverse nationalities represented at their school. Pupils at Highworth School in Ashford celebrated Indian culture with a themed lunch and activities organised by Year 12 students resplendent in traditional dress. During the day, children had intricate patterns painted onto hands with henna. Pupils were shown how to put on a sari and got to taste traditional dishes and even learn a little Gujarati.
