FOLKE­STONE A com­pleted the KCB Folke­stone In­door Cricket league and cup dou­ble on Sun­day as they beat Sibton Park A by 23 runs in the cup fi­nal. Con­fi­dent bowl­ing from Ben Allon (231) and Dave Ste­wart (2-39) re­stricted Folke­stone to a chasable score of 107 all out, as Nick Gra­ham (24) and Stu­art Gra­ham (21) pro­vided some re­sis­tance. Park, how­ever, made a mess of their re­ply as they lost open­ers Ste­wart and Allon to the first two de­liv­er­ies of the in­nings. Al­ways play­ing catch up from that point, John Os­bourne and Steve Hick­mott both hit 22 as Park limped to 84 all out. In the Plate fi­nal, New Rom­ney, play­ing their first game in the com­pe­ti­tion af­ter two byes, fell three runs short as Hythe Green took the sil­ver­ware. Tim Wise (34) top scored for the vic­tors, as they posted 127-5, be­fore Martin Smith’s 2-24 ham­pered New Rom­ney’s re­ply. The Marsh side lost their last two wick­ets in the fi­nal over. ALAN BAKER, in his Rooster, fought off 10 other com­peti­tors to claim Re­doubt Sail­ing Club’s ninth Frost­bite Se­ries race. Tracy and Gemma Amos fin­ished sec­ond, fol­lowed by Yvonne and Brian Mum­ford. Fred Bar­ring­ton took fourth while Keith Macy and Ian Hodge shared the hon­ours for fifth spot.
