Driver cut free after van crashes into pole
A DRIVER was trapped for an hour by his legs after his van hit a telegraph pole. The Royal Mail delivery van crashed shortly after 6.30am on Wednesday in Cranbrook Road, Fosten Green, Biddenden. Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the victim and he was taken to Ashford’s William Harvey Hospital. South Kent Police spokesman Rosy Alexander said: “The victim had been trapped behind his steering wheel and he suffered leg injuries. But he was found to have non-life threatening injuries.” Two fire engines, from the Tenterden and Cranbrook retained stations were called and police reopened the road just before 8am.
