As­sault on teenager

PO­LICE are ap­peal­ing for wit­nesses af­ter a teenager was as­saulted near Ash­ford’s Asda store.

It hap­pened shortly af­ter 6.30pm on Fri­day, March 13 on the path­way be­hind the store in Kim­berly Way.

A 14-year-old speak­ing on his iPhone saw four youths loi­ter­ing by the gate to the park, and one de­manded he handed over the phone.

He re­fused and an­other of the youths threat­ened him. A scuf­fle fol­lowed as he re­fused to hand over the phone and the gang walked away, tak­ing the right fork to­wards Her­bert Road.

The of­fender was about 15, of skinny build, with spots on his cheeks and a straight shave mark on his right eye­brow. He was wear­ing a grey hooded top, black track­suit bot­toms and white train­ers.
