A FUND-RAISER is to host a music marathon in preparation for running a real one.

Journalist Joanna Earle, who lives in Homewood Road, Tenterden, will host the event at the Tenterden club in Church Road on Saturday to help boost sponsorship for her participation in the London Marathon in aid of the national deaf-blind charity, Sense.

The musical evening will include local bands and a raffle.

Joanna, 25, hopes to raise £2,500 for Sense and has been running 15 miles in the countryside in preparation.

She said: “I once did a story on a young deaf-blind boy in Yorkshire and followed him through his day-to-day life.

“It was an eye opener to see the support Sense provides to him and his family.”

Tickets for the music marathon cost £12 and are available on 07765 406413. Anyone wanting to sponsor Joanna can do so by visiting www.justgiv joearle
