THE magnificent gardens at Godinton Park on the edge of Ashford will be open free of charge on Saturday (March 28) for Kent’s Big Day Out promotion. Vouchers are available from the website, www.kentbigdayout.co.uk The historic Godinton House will also open that day, two weeks ahead of its normal opening on Good Friday. Manager Nick Sandford said: “We are pleased to support the Big Day Out initiative. Last year a number of people made use of the free vouchers to enjoy the gardens, so this year we decided to open the house especially for that day. Holders of the special vouchers will pay an extra £4 for entry to the house. The gardens and tea room open at noon and the house from 1pm for guided tours. The daffodils and spring flowers will be looking their best. The gardens only will also be open on Sunday (March 29) for the National Gardens Scheme, when entry fees will be donated to the charity.
