Relive the happiest days of your life
THEY say your school days are the happiest of your life.
And if you were once a pupil at Smarden school then you can remember those days at a reunion on Saturday, June 13, from 1pm-6pm.
There will be an open day at the school and a display of memorabilia in the Charter Hall.
Organisers are hoping to assemble old photos and other memorabilia for the day.
Organiser Gill Bromley said: “We have asked people to send us their memories of Smarden and nearly everyone mentions the maypole dancing.”
The organisers continue to look for such items as old schoolbooks, reports and photos, as well as written memories.
Mrs Bromley added: “Visitors may bring memorabilia along on the day but if we receive it in advance we can make sure it is well displayed.
“Smarden History Society will display a range of school records and other memorabilia throughout the afternoon. It will be a chance to see more of the growing parish archive.
“People can visit www.smarde nheritagecentre.synthasite.com for more details.”
Anyone planning to come along is asked to contact Caroline Levett, the parish administrator, at charterhall1@ btconnect.com and or call Mrs Bromley on 01233 770451.
