Bethersden beat leaders
BETHERSDEN pulled off an emphatic 3-0 win over league leaders Market Hotel in Sunday’s Premier Division Cup final at Hythe Town FC.
Bethersden keeper Don Murrell produced a series of super saves to keep Market at bay before Tom Ripley gave the villagers a half-time lead, and then man-of-the-match Ripley and Tom Sims, with a 35-yard screamer, scored two more in the second half.
The Division 1 Cup final will be between Lydd and Mersham. Lydd had to come from 2-1 down at half-time to defeat Hamstreet 3-2 in their semi-final.
Aaron McGuiness and Ross Ketley scored for Hamstreet, with Joe Tibble (2) and Bill Briffet replying for Lydd. Highfield suffered their first defeat by any Division 1 side this season when they went down 1-0 to Mersham, for whom Mickey Doyle scored the only goal. for whom Rob Greenfield and Glen Rolfe were on target. FOX Sunday look odds on to be relegated after going down 6-2 at Market Hotel Reserves. Joe Ansell scored a hat-trick for the Hotel, with the others coming from Matt Morgan (2) and Ronnie Williams. Fox replied through Keith Matthews and an own goal. Bocca and Ashford Dynamo shared the points in a 4-4 draw. Tinsley replied for Eagles. Pluckley & Egerton United stay level with the leaders after edging out Bromley Green Reserves 2-1.
Richard Tubbs and Will Lawrence scored for Egerton, with Matt Wedge on target for Green. Grasshoppers slipped up 4-3 at home to The Albion. Eric Kong, Dan Chamberlain and Louis Rae notched for the marshmen, and Howard Baker (2), Jack Fabian and Dave Relf replied for the pub. Jackman notched for the marshmen. Troggs Reserves picked up three valuable points by beating William Harvey Inn 1-0, with Andy Underdown hitting home. ASHFORD Cavaliers Res– erves kept their unbeaten run with a 1-0 win over Ashford Spartans, thanks to a Stuart Reaks’ goal. Mersham Reserves went down 2-1 at home to Man of Kent.
Craig Mannering scored for Mersham, while Dan Lockear hit both goals for the visitors. Prince Albert scored a 3-1 win over Ruckinge, thanks to Gary Foreman (2) and Keith Kerry. Mark Fuller replied for Ruckinge.
Brabourne swept Charing Reserves aside 4-0 through goals by Nick Hickmott, Scott Burden (2) and Anthony Robinson. Highfield Reserves edged out Wye Monarchs Reserves 2-1. Matt Kenny and Paul Hilden Jnr scored for Highfield, with Dan Carter replying for Wye.
