Shared space has cut speed and crashes
ASHFORD’S controversial shared scheme has been “highly successful” in reducing drivers’ speeds and injury crashes.
That’s the conclusion of a report being presented to next Tuesday’s meeting of Ashford’s Joint Transportation Board.
The report says: “Speeds have been reduced to an average of 21.5mph and there have been no personal injury crashes in the first full year.”
Noise and emissions have also been reduced.
