Mem­ory lives on with char­ity foot­ball matches

FRIENDS and fam­ily of Ben Neil­son have kept his mem­ory alive by hold­ing a se­ries of char­ity foot­ball matches. Ben was a keen sports­man and played for both Nor­ton Knatch­bull school and High­field un­der-16s. In one char­ity match Ben’s old High­field team mates took on the cur­rent High­field United se­nior first team. De­spite los­ing 9-2 they raised more than £700 through a post match auc­tion and raf­fle. In an­other match the cur­rent first team from Ben’s old school, Nor­ton Knatch­bull, took on the sixth-form team he played in, rais­ing more than £100. The money raised is to be put to­wards the Ben Neil­son Memo­rial Fund, pro­ceeds from which are to be used to pay for buy brain scan­ning equip­ment for am­bu­lances.
