Memory lives on with charity football matches
FRIENDS and family of Ben Neilson have kept his memory alive by holding a series of charity football matches. Ben was a keen sportsman and played for both Norton Knatchbull school and Highfield under-16s. In one charity match Ben’s old Highfield team mates took on the current Highfield United senior first team. Despite losing 9-2 they raised more than £700 through a post match auction and raffle. In another match the current first team from Ben’s old school, Norton Knatchbull, took on the sixth-form team he played in, raising more than £100. The money raised is to be put towards the Ben Neilson Memorial Fund, proceeds from which are to be used to pay for buy brain scanning equipment for ambulances.
