Displays mark centenary of Simone Weil
A NEW exhibition celebrating the life of French philosopher Simone Weil has gone on display at Ashford International station. The show is the latest in a series of events in the town to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the former Ashford resident who died in 1943 aged 34 and is buried in Bybrook Cemetery. Last week Italian artist Dino Alfier marked the centenary by opening the exhibition in the international station’s main foyer. The show include sketches of Simone Weil and runs until December 11.
