Loyalty to pay off for shoppers and traders
A NEW loyalty scheme with a ‘shop local’ ethos is coming to Ashford this winter.
The organisers say it will offer big savings and discounts to the shoppers in the town and in Tenterden.
Membership is free and it aims to encourage local people to use local businesses.
The scheme is backed by the Invicta Chamber of Commerce and also supports Kent Air Ambulance.
The Magpie Local loyalty card will be launched in Ashford town centre on December 12 and in Tenterden on the December 18.
Members will be able to find all the savings and discounts for local businesses on the organisers’ website (www.magpielocal.com) as well as a business directory.
Sharon Bell, the project’s regional business development manager, said: “The Magpie Local loyalty scheme is a great idea and offers local people a chance to save money while supporting local businesses.
“This is a win-win situation and I am delighted to be involved in the project. Response to the scheme from local businesses and the Invicta Chamber of Commerce has been overwhelming already.
“Everyone we speak to loves the concept and I am really looking forward to getting a positive response at the launch.”
