Beaver Road tragedy Driver ad­mits hit and run crash deaths

A DRIVER has been warned he faces a sub­stan­tial jail sen­tence for killing two pedes­tri­ans and in­jur­ing three oth­ers.

Ste­fan Stanko ad­mit­ted yes­ter­day (Wed­nes­day) at Maid­stone Crown Court to two charges of caus­ing death by danger­ous driv­ing of Brian Moon, 67, and 49-year-old Denise Head, who were killed af­ter be­ing mown down in Beaver Road, Ash­ford, as they walked home af­ter a night out.

The 24-year-old Slo­vakian, also ad­mit­ted driv­ing with ex­cess al­co­hol and fail­ing to stop af­ter an ac­ci­dent.

Mrs Head, Mr Moon and three oth­ers, in­clud­ing a 12year-old girl, were struck by Stanko’s Nis­san Primera as they made their way back from the nearby Ash­ford In­ter­na­tional Sports and So­cial Club shortly af­ter mid­night on Septem­ber 27.
