Stars will be out to add shine to fun day in town

THE stars are com­ing out to sup­port a fun char­ity day.

The Utopia restau­rant and wine bar in Bank Street, Ash­ford, is host­ing the event that aims to in­ject some Christ­mas cheer into Ash­ford on Sun­day, De­cem­ber 20 while rais­ing funds for the Sal­va­tion Army and Help for He­roes.

Ra­dio sta­tion kmfm, Ball Con­trac­tors and the Kent Part­ner­ship will be sup­port­ing the event that starts at 3pm on the pa­tio next to Utopia, op­po­site Deben­hams.

Celebri­ties ex­pected to at­tend in­clude Olympic gold medal winning cy­clist Jamie Staff, for­mer Eng­land foot­baller Neil ‘Ra­zor’ Rud­dock, Gilling­ham cap­tain Barry Fuller, lo­cal golf­ing leg­end Ben Barham and of course Fa­ther Christ­mas.

There will be a raf­fle to raise money for Help for He­roes with the first prize of a new fit­ted bath­room worth £1,000 do­nated by Ball Con­trac­tors, a tour of the Ash­ford kmfm stu­dio and other prizes.

kmfm’s Kirstyn Read, John ‘Webbo’ Web­ster and Adam Dowl­ing will be host­ing the event which also fea­tures face paint­ing, mulled wine and mince pies with mu­sic from the Sal­va­tion Army band and lo­cal school choirs.

There will also be a Wii Sport Com­pe­ti­tion and around 5pm the Queen Street Christ­mas tree lights will be switched on.

There will be a li­censed bar open from noon and food will be avail­able through­out the day.

Evening en­ter­tain­ment will be kick­ing off at ap­prox­i­mately 7.30pm with a Dusty’s Re­union Party hosted by Webbo.
