Help us to give families a magical Christmas
GENEROUS Kentish Express readers have already begun donating toys and gifts for children and families who face a lonely Christmas this year.
The Kentish Express and Salvation Army have again joined forces for the annual Christmas Present Appeal – and we still need your help.
The reception at our North Street office has been filling up with giant teddy bears, cricket bats, model cars, dolls and even a penguin, pictured here with Kentish Express receptionist Susy Deegan.
From now until December 18 readers are being asked to donate a new, unwrapped gift to be given to children and families who face the prospect of a cheerless Christmas.
A drop-off point is available at the Kentish Express offices at 34-36 North Street (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm) and now at both Superdrug stores in Park Mall and County Square.
You can now also donate money with your credit or debit card online at www.salvationarmy.org.uk and click on Christmas Appeal 2009.
Ashford Salvation Army senior leader Mark Scott said: “Every year we are put in contact with families who are struggling to put enough food on the table let alone buy presents as well.
“By donating presents to the appeal you will be helping us give families in Ashford a better Christmas, one where the magic of the season can be enjoyed by children as they wake up on Christmas morning.”
