Su­per­nova turn up the heat to win fi­nal of KM Big Quiz

TOP brains from around the county com­peted in the fi­nal of the KM Big Quiz at The Ash­ford In­ter­na­tional Ho­tel on Sun­day.

The Su­per­nova team, who won the Maid­stone heat, came away with the tro­phy af­ter beat­ing clos­est ri­val Bonny Cra­vat from Wood­church, near Ash­ford, by four points with a score of 62.

Teams earned their place in the fi­nal by com­ing top in one of four KM Big Quiz heats held in Can­ter­bury, Maid­stone, Med­way and Ash­ford that raised al­most £40,000 for good causes.

Si­mon Dolby, chair­man of the KM Char­ity Team, which or­gan­ises the event said: “We are grate­ful to spon­sors Bar­clays and Scot­tish & New­cas­tle who helped raise £24,000 for Kent char­i­ties, a sig­nifi- cant con­tri­bu­tion to the to­tal amount achieved.”

On the night of the county fi­nal more than £1,000 was raised for the chil­dren’s road safety depart­ment of the KM Char­ity Team.
