FUN­DA­MEN­TAL Skillz play for the last time next week. The Ash­ford band per­forms their swan­song at the Liq­uid & Envy night­club at East Hill, Ash­ford, early on Thurs­day morn­ing. The six-piece group are call­ing it a day af­ter seven years and three al­bums be­cause of work and fam­ily com­mit­ments. Sam Stu­art, a founder mem­ber, said; “We have de­cided to re­tire be­cause each mem­ber of the band’s lives are tak­ing dif­fer­ent di­rec­tions. “We are still great friends and re­ally en­joy writ­ing and per­form­ing to­gether and would like to leave it on those terms. “We would like to thank all those who have sup­ported us over the years and any bands that we have had the priv­i­lege of shar­ing the stage with.” The band’s high­lights have in­cluded play­ing at Glas­ton­bury and the O2 Academy and O2 Arena. In their last show, from 12.30am, they head­line Liq­uid & Envy’s Rock The House Scary Christ­mas Party along­side Coronal Mass Ejec­tion and lo­cal DJs Mike An­thony, Ol­lie Davis and Mar­tyn Cheesman.
