A SUPERMARKET is looking for more local produce to stack on its shelves. Asda in Kimberley Way says its plea is part of its commitment to local sourcing. The supermarket chain uses a single point ‘hub’ distribution system, which guides local suppliers through the accreditation process. Asda Ashford general store manager Chris Fawn said: “We have invested more than £80,000 into researching what our customers want from their local products and it has meant that we are now able to focus on the relevance of local produce in each store, so we know that products will be where they are most in demand.” Mr Fawn added: “If you’re a local supplier our local distribution hub Invicta will be able to discuss your product with you and guide you through the process of working with Asda.”

Anyone interested can leave their contact details with the Ashford store’s events cordinator Vee Hewitt. Telephone 01843 823005, fax 01843 823003 or email sales@ invictaproduce.co.uk
