THE Street Light Singers were in action at Ashford’s County Square driving home the message that keeping to the speed limit saves lives.

The singers, dressed in 9ft street light costumes, are part of the latest Kent and Medway Safety Camera Partnership road safety campaign.

The Street Lights Mean 30 campaign aims to make motorists aware that the presence of street lights indicates a 30mph Left, Tadi Rea with the street lights at County Square as part of the Street Lights Mean 30 campaign speed limit. A recent survey showed 73 per cent of drivers interviewed did not realise that street lights meant they were driving in a 30mph zone.

More details about the campaign are available from www. streetlightsmean30.co.uk
