Debt is people’s biggest worry this year
SAMARITANS want the distressed to call them as a survey confirmed that the top worry this year has been debt and money.
Ashford and Tenterden Samaritans say that more than half the population in the South East, 53 per cent, are concerned about this issue as the recession continues.
The same survey says that 25 per cent have described 2009 as a bad year or their worst ever and also high on the list of fears is job security.
Audrey Watson, director of Ashford Samaritans, said: “If people don’t talk about their problems they can build over time and spiral into more seri- ous emotional distress.
“Sharing your troubles can be a huge relief and is often the first step to finding a way of coping with the challenges that life throws at all of us.
“Samaritans’ trained volunteers are available 24/7.”
