Architecture advice for big projects
LARGE building projects in Ashford will now be offered help and advice from a panel of architectural experts.
The group will be known as the Regional Design Panel in Ashford and will in the future be able to offer advice to planning committee members and developers for approving and improving the design of major building projects in the town.
The idea was originally mooted at the beginning of the year but has now received the green light from executive members at a meeting last week.
Planning and development boss Richard Alderton said: “The challenge is to take advantage of this pool of experts; benefit from the Kent Architecture Centre handling the administration of the process; but also inject a strong local dimension so that the board learns about Ashford over time and is more useful as a result.”
